Comment: I hate rating you down, but I never got anything from you for this swap. Please pass on a zine to me for this swap. I will gladly rerate.
Response: I'm going to have to start a new one, I guess. Hopefully you'll still get the one I sent eventually. It took 6 weeks for a scarf I made to be received in New Mexico - the next state!. Give me a couple of days to get it together (I work full time) and I'll send another along - but it'll have to be a brand new one!, of course. I think I'll look into sending it with tracking or confirmation - maybe the postal service will be more careful!

Response: This swap has been doomed for me...and I LOVED doing it! I've discovered that the mail I left in my mailbox for pickup on the day I left for vacation was stolen. I've resent almost all of my stolen "stuff," but a couple of the cool postcards were irreplaceable, so they're taking me a little longer to reproduce. You should be receiving (or have received it) shortly. I'm so bummed! I take pride in my swaps....will resend and resend again until you get it! ADDENDUM 10/19: You STILL haven't gotten it? I am truly going to scream, this isn't as easy as a minizine to reproduce.....

Comment: I have found that different cans of tomatoes have different amounts of liquid, I have also gone to larger cans of crushed tomatoes. I do love texas hash.. the recipe was lost,, for years my grandmother made it,,I found it in one of her old cookbooks about 15 years ago. was so happy

Response: I'm so glad you liked it. The pattern is from Ravelry (just look up KNIT SCRUBBIES) and is easy and brainless. I knit them while I'm on recess duty at school, watching the kids the whole time. There's a crochet version, too. Response: I went to what is NOW called the University of Southern Maine. However, it was plain old Gorham State College when I was there. My sophomore year they changed the name to University of Maine Portland-Gorham, we all called it PoGo U. I finished my degree at the University of Maine, the big campus in Orono. I'm really looking forward to that fudge recipe...!!!

Response: If your nephew lives Phoenix or south, don't come during June, July, August, or September. It reaches 100 degrees every day and there's so little you can do outside. HOWEVER, the rest of the year is fantastic...I love to go hiking in January and February when you're quite sure y ou won't encounter and slithering creatures!

It is still winter here but it will not be long and summer will be here shortly so I can make the most of the recipe very soon. The temperature is already reaching 75F so it is summer countdown now.

Absolutely love the Cactus from Arizona they are amazing, I have only ever seen little tiny cacti in tiny pots here lol. Maine looks amazing too, I have distant family there, my great grnadmothers sister moved to Maine in the late 1800's from here in Scotland. And I also like the Baseball park card too, we dont have baseball here but I have seen it on tv and would love to go and see a game in real life. Again thank you for the cards xxx p.s. Response: I really, truly don't understand this. Another swap, also journal, has not yet been received, but that's in New Zealand, so I'm hoping it's just got to do with the mail. I'm frustrated. I'm also on vacation, on the road, with only a small amount of paper and writing "goodies"....and the thoughts of making yet another are a little off-putting. The date I mailed it and other info are at home. Let's wait just a little longer, no more journals for me, and if I do get tempted, it's going to be sent by priority mail with tracking. Probably should have been smart enough to do that sooner, but I've never had this happen before. I DO trust the mail...well, I always did....

I have a son who is teaching too. He is a fairly new teacher, he has been teaching 4 years now, in a high school in Texas, alot of the students speak no english and don't care to learn, He is a exmarine, and as he says " once a marine always a marine" so the battle of the wills in on. He loves those guys and just keeps trying to get through to them, enough about that, Yes, I have lots of books I could recommend to you, just let me know what you like to read. ( that is when you have time to read for pleasure. ha ha I will tell my grandson about The Fault in Our Stars, he is a avid reader, And is always looking for another good book, he bought himself a Nook with birthday money he has been saving, Another good Young Adult series I found and read before giving them to him, was the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson, his mother and I both read those and enjoyed them, of course he read the Hunger Game series. I have read a few on your list, the most recent being The Kite Runner - I had to read it for my English Literature exam, and wrote an essay about it just last week :) it's a great book! Thank you also for the great stamps, and the ATC sleeves - I really needed those! :D As for getting US titles in Wales, it's relatively easy. Sometimes the titles are changed but other than that Amazon usually has everything! :)

Response: Okay, I'm going to come right out and ask...I'm really curious why I didn't get a heart from you. I bought a journal that fit the specifications 'cause I didn't have one on hand, spent a great deal of time collaging both sides of the journal and covering it with two coats so that it would stay in pristine condition (and believe me, it looked a lot better than most that I've received through SwapBot), sent three extra hand-made envies, and spent $3.65 on postage. Where did I go wrong? Please don't take this as being mean or ornery, that's not me. I'm just curious. Thanks so much!

Bye the way if you find a picture of old patio scene, with pots and fountain etc. My daughter is doing her sun room in the spanish style, and she wants me to paint a picture of this type thing, I love to paint, Would you send it to me? Yes, I understand life happens..... I'm dealing with health issues and looking at surgery.. My DH had a stroke in June.. We lost our 17yr old cat in July.. My aunt who I lived with most of my life passed away Aug 1st .. I've had to replace my furnace in Jan. My well pump in Feb.. and the Airconditioner in May.. plus we are retired and on limited income.. So I do understand when life happens..
Sept 26th, 2012...Wow... over a year later and you contact me about changing the rating...... If I had received the swap I would have changed the rating........

I down that valley one time on my way back from southern California as an alternative to the Interstate bordom. You could almost feel there was something odd about the area. Probably just too many governement security sensors giving off white noise, but who knows.

Response: Hi Amanda...I was born and raised in a northern suburb of Boston, but went to Maine for college and stayed there until 2002. One of my two kids is still there, and my best friend, and my mom and sibs are in Mass., so I travel back as much as possible. My poor Arizona students know more about Maine than they do about Arizona!
