Response: Jan 6, 2014: In the process of working this out. All cards for this swap marked sent (Sun) Nov 24, 2013 (means postmark of 25th or 26th). This card had to travel internationally from the US to Finland, and but as of now, 6 weeks later, appears to be AWOL. While international could take 8+ weeks (especially considering the holiday season), we are calling it likely misplaced and I will resend. Resend est, date of departure: Wed, Jan 8th. Will update. UPDATE; Sun Jan 12th.: Mailed out the resend on Sat Jan 11th. Partner was notified.
Response: Personally, I don't really find it funny either. The premise is that the turnpike connects NYC with the Jersey Shore (going north/south). Theoretically, since NJ is longer than it is wide, people are "supposed" to live at one of the 18 (ish) exits of the turnpike. Because NJ is between two major cities (NYC and Philadelphia) many people see the state only from the turnpike. In addition, a good portion of NJ residents commute to NYC or Philly to work...thus spending a good deal of time on the turnpike (especially if heading to NYC). My (smart alack) response is always to ask the questioner which direction I'm heading- north or south. I live far enough from a turnpike entrance that if heading home from NYC my exit is 9. If I'm coming from Atlantic City (Jersey Shore) then I'd get off at 8A. Not sure how much this really helps, but like I said, I don't find the "joke" amusing either. :)
Response: Yay! You're welcome! I'm so glad that the mug arrived in one piece. One can only try to hard to cushion things. I love that frog too. He is so entertaining. Take care!
Response: Yay! Glad to hear they arrived! Mail has been a little touchy for me lately. ;) Hope you enjoy them.
Response: Ooo. Good luck on the new job! That's exciting. No hurry. I have this amazing backlog thanks to Letter Month (February). P.S. Did the Postcard a Day 15-28th arrive? It was mailed the day before. Take care and KIT!
Response: Yup, I think that I unintentionally intentionally (goes with being imperfectly perfect) took a break in February. Thanks for reading! Good luck with your list, too!
Response: Aww. This amuses me that I got a rating before you had a chance to read. Can't wait to hear from you soon!
Response: OMG! That is the best news I have had all day! Still took well better than 10 days (sent Feb 11thish). Bizarre. Maybe there is still hope that card 1 will find a helping hand to correct his bad sense of direction. ;) Yay! It arrived! <3
Response: Funny thing is that I never checked the lotto numbers the next day. (Does the Lottery even run on Saturdays? I clearly don't play.) Probably just as well. Every time a co-worker skips a day buying a ticket, her numbers are called, and she could have been a winner. Just better to not know what might have been.
Response: I am THRILLED to hear that that letter arrived. You have no idea how bizarre I find this absurd travel time from NJ to CT. I have family in Washington State, and as you say with OR, I get it within about a week. Despite the lengthy timeframe, I did not re-write nor resend, as we discussed. Thus, that is the original I put in the mail back on January 29th. I'm actually curious to know if you can decipher the stamp date?
Response: So so glad it arrived safely! Also happy that you like the somethings. Please let me know if you want to keep in touch. Take care!
Response: Glad you liked them! I'm rusty in the pen paling department, but it was something I loved doing once upon a time, so I am slowly joining swaps and re-learning to use those muscles. Love meeting new friends, especially those with whom I can talk books. =D
Response: Bummer that the pretty envelope split. ;( Yes, I believe that accounts for everything added to the letter. And of course, the letter was the most important part, so as long as all the pages got there, that's all that matters. Also, WHOA WEE, that traveled at lightning speed across the pond. O_o I anticipated a good week. The post must be hard up for things to deliver now that the winter holidays have passed us by. Patiently awaiting my roll of tape arriving to my mailbox. Have a good week!
Response: Thanks for taking the time to read and let me know you read my ramblings! I prefer handwritten letters as they are more personal, but I'm really not picky. Have a wonderful evening and hope to hear from you soon. :D
Response: You're welcome! Very glad you liked it. :D
Response: Oh so glad they got there in a timely fashion! Hope you enjoy them!
Response: Thanks for taking the time to read and letting me know you read!
Response: Yay! So glad they arrived! Can't wait to hear from you! Ironically, I see that you are my partner for the "Long letter pen pal 2013" swap. Totally works for me if the incoming letter finishes off two birds with one stone. ;) Would not wish you to do double duty. Enjoy the week!
Response: So thrilled you like them and they arrived safely! I was very anxious about them because I was playing with some medias I never had before or hadn't used in quite some time. Take care!
Response: Glad you liked the items! These envelopes are so mysterious and a real toss up. But that's what intrigued me about this type - so random! Happy Valentine's Day! Don't forget to wear your tattoo. :D
Response: Glad you like them! Writing notes is becoming more of a lost art. I still write them, too.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to read and rate! I know I'm wordy. :D
