Response: Me too! They had me at cryptids.
Response: Your first homer? That's so exciting!! I hope it's the first of many. :)
Response: Yay! I'm glad so many were new to you!!
Response: Yay! I'm so glad this one made it, and that you enjoy it. :) Hope to swap again soon!
Response: I'm so thrilled you like it! Thank you so much -- you totally made my whole month. :) <3
Response: Oh my gosh, a crocheted witch hat would be amazing! I'm so glad you liked your goodies. :)
Response: Oh, I did not, but I had it in the cart! lol I got distracted and by the time I remembered it it was too late. I guess that was a good thing? :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked them and can use them. :) The washi is from mabgraves on etsy. Another swapper had decorated her envelope with the yokai washi and I was so obsessed I did a Google image search for it. :D
Response: Ah, yes, the Great Pen Fiasco. lol
That was ridiculous.
I had 2 iguanas in the late 80's/early 90's: Jimmy Izod and Sammy Johan. My ex-boyfriend got custody of Sammy in our breakup. Mine were very small, but I knew someone who had one that was 2-3 feet long.
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you liked my zine as much as I liked yours! This just made my day. Thank you!
Response: Oh no! What a bummer. It sounds like a couple things did go missing, but most of it made it to you. I'm sending you an email with the "before mailing" swap pics so you can compare. Thank you for letting me know so I can be extra careful with those envelopes from now on!
Response: That envelope is from one of the Stickii advent calendars. They are so gorgeous! I'm glad they switched to individual envelopes this past year so I can use them to send swaps.
Response: One was a character from a Japanese video game called Ib, so I had to make a dress (I don't think there's a seam on it that wasn't ripped out and redone at least once - lol). The other was Teruki Hanazawa from the anime Mob Psycho 100. That was easier because I just had to alter some clothes and then made a big wig with faux fur. I learned A LOT about sewing. :D I'm glad this series will be back next year. It was super fun!
Response: I think that washi came in my Stickii club subscription. I'm glad you like the monster. :D It was fun experimenting with a new technique.
Response: Oooh, that's a good one, too! Thanks for the recommendation. I'm off to see what other Disturbed songs I've missed. :)
Response: I'm glad you like them! And I look forward to swapping again soon. :)
Response: I'm glad they made it. :) I hope this is a sign your post office is doing better? I can't imagine how frustrating that would be... Hang in there and Happy Swapping! <3
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like them. I knew when I saw that bee sheet that it had to be yours. :)
Response: Steal away! :D I love anything that helps save postage. It means I can do more swaps. :)
Response: I haven't, but I will now. :) I've put a hold on it at our library. It sounds fascinating. Thank you for the recommendation!
Response: The Wheel of Time is moving veeerrryyy slowly. lol It's too complex to listen to (I get distracted and end up rewinding constantly), so I'm reading the print books. I am a slow reader and don't have a lot of free time for reading. But, they are really good, so worth it. :) Orphan X sounds interesting! I'll be checking that out. Thanks!
Response: Thank you! It makes me really happy to know you like what I sent. I love how that one turned out.
Response: lol I know, right? It came from Stickii way back when they used to send a lot of Japanese brand stickers.
Response: Aww, that makes me so happy about the Hummels! I'm glad I chose that envie for you. My uncle collects them, and I found a big book about them at a thrift shop. It was starting to fall apart, so I used some pages for envelopes, some are being turned into art journal pages, and some I'm leaving as is to keep the pretty pics. My uncle would be so jealous that your mom got to go to the factory. :)
Response: I'm so happy you like it! Not gonna lie -- I was tempted to keep it. lol It turned out way better than I expected.
Response: lol I have the same policy and that deco threw me for a bit until I found the right search. :D
Response: That postcard is from Mincing Mockingbird. They have a whole line of them called Troubled Birds, and I'm kind of addicted to them. Glad you like it as much as I do! :)
Response: Oh no! Dang, I thought I checked them all. I'm so sorry. The Halloween one I sent you was one I received back after having done a page in it already, so I can't believe I immediately went and did the same thing. smh at myself.
Response: I know. I thought, "Oh, arrows, that'll be easy." Nope. lol I'm glad you liked it. :)
Response: Oh, how cool the Baltimore PC found it’s way to you! I love little coincidences like that. :)
Response: Wow, that got there fast! I'm so glad it made it this time and that you enjoy your goodies. :)
Response: Oh no! I was worried about how it would fare in the mail, but more that it would get smooshed than the band breaking. I’ll definitely look for thicker bands if I make another one. Sorry about that! I’m glad that you liked the swap otherwise. 😊
Response: Oh no! I glued it down with strong liquid glue, too. :( I'm always nervous that will happen with homemade postcards, but I thought this one would be good since it's so flat.
Response: I'm glad they made it! :) Our mail has been so slow.
Response: No way! I haven't been there -- it came in a box of 100 postcards featuring bookstores all over the world. What are the odds I'd send you one you've been to? :)
Response: Yay!! I'm so glad they made it. Whew! :) Happy 2021!!
Response: Yay!!! I'm doing a happy dance that they made it. :) On my bucket list is to hold someone's pet tarantula. The thought of it freaks me out, but I like doing stuff that scares me. lol
Response: It's my first, too, and I'm totally hooked! :)
Response: Lol - I'm glad you like it! I had all these awesome washi samples from swaps and they were overflowing the little box I keep them in. I grabbed a bunch of blank envies and spent at least 3 or 4 days decorating them to use up the samples. Then I found another stash of them. :O I think I'm going to use these ones to cover up those extra envies that come in bills we pay online or random charities asking for donations.
Response: I've been keeping a list of what I send each person to try and avoid duplicates. :) I found a box full of old decks a couple months ago, so I should be able to go a few rounds before I have to repeat.
Response: Some days that bird is my spirit animal. lol It took me a few tries to make it all the way through GwtW, and I LOVE old movies. You're right -- it's crazy long. Plus, whiny characters irritate me. But that's also what makes, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" such a good line. :)
Response: I went to WMU! Small world. :) One of my all-time favorite stores was in K-zoo. It salvaged architectural pieces from old buildings that were torn down. Gorgeous wood doors, intricately carved fireplace fronts, piles of bricks, even a couple gargoyles. This was long before "reclaimed wood" was a trend. I used to wander through there and daydream about living in a cool house built from all the stuff there. Closest I've gotten is a house from the 70's that still had the original orange shag carpet and barn-wood paneled walls. Not the same... lol
Response: It was so fun to do! Thanks for hosting these crazy story swaps now and then. :)
Response: I didn't even think to check Cafe Press for PCs of them. Thanks for the tip!
Response: I know, right? I do that every time I look at those postcards: "Wait... 5 legs... 3 arms... 2 heads... oh no, there's another!" lol I love art that forces me to stop and really take it in. :)
Response: Wow! I've been holding on to that strongman card for awhile -- I guess it was waiting to go to you! What are the odds I'd send it to someone who knows an actual strongman? Too cool! And yeah, that toothpaste hotdog... kinda made me do that head tilt dogs do when they're like "What is wrong with this human?" lol
Response: OMG I'm drooling! Beautiful! I haven't had the urge to make jewelry in awhile, but this certainly did it. :) The necklace with the fanned out scales (pic #35, I think) is my favorite, but there are sooooo many cool pieces.
Response: Station Eleven is a good one! I bet it takes on whole new connotations with the current pandemic, though.
Response: Wow - that media mail went faster than I thought it would. It was my first time trying it. I'm so glad I was able to send you a book from your wish list! It's a good one. :) Enjoy!
Response: Wait -- That's the first one! Yay!!!! I'm so glad it finally got there because that's the only Princess Mononoke card I had and I was so sad it got lost. lol Oh, I'm so happy it worked out. Hopefully the resend comes too and you can have a bonus. :) This made my day. (Yes, it's the little things that brighten my world these days.) lol
Response: Hi! I'm so glad you liked it. I've been having a lot of fun making these. A new obsession. :) My husband is of Finnish descent. His grandfather moved to the US and settled in an area that had a lot of Finnish immigrants.
Response: Hi! I designed the swap note in Photoshop and printed it at home. I used a digital kit from Snap Click Supply Co. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like them. I love Winnie the Pooh, too. :)
Response: Yay! So glad it finally made it and that you like it. :)
Response: Wow! Your diorama is so cool! I could stare at it for hours and still find new things to notice. I can tell you put a lot of time and care into it. I find dioramas absolutely fascinating. I love how they tell a story, and I love finding all the perfect little details that bring them to life. Thanks for sharing the picture!
Response: Hi! Sorry for the late response. I just discovered a batch of ratings that got pushed to the second page. I'm so glad you like the tapes! I got the Alice ones from modes4u.com, but they don't have any traditional style ones at the moment (just kawaii). Try searching "alice washi" on etsy.com. There's lots there. :)
Response: Good to know about MP. Thank you for the advice! We hope to book our trip very soon. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like it. I had a blast making it. I can't believe how awesome they turned out. I love learning new tricks like this. :)
Response: That looks amazing! I'll definitely have to give it a try. Merry Christmas!
Response: Hi! The only Japanese set was the tarepanda one. Everything else was Korean, which is fine by me since working in Korea back in the 90's is how I first fell in love with kawaii. Got a few super cute Orange Story and Morning Glory sets. :)
Response: Ooooh, a rainbow garden sounds cool! But, yes, also a lot of work, especially from seed. :)
Response: Hi! I'd love to do a 1 on 1 swap. Now that school's out for the summer things are slowing down a bit and I can have more swapping fun! :)
Response: I'm so glad you like it! It's a 7 gypsies stamp. It came in a set along with an eye chart and a ruler.
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked everything. That makes my day! :) I have many "admire only" items, too. I just had to move my collection into a bigger set of storage drawers. But I saw something recently that said, "It isn't hoarding if your stuff is cool," so I'm going with that. lol!
Response: Awww, thank you! I'm so glad you like it. It was a really fun one to do.
Response: I'm so glad I could send you some new things! You always send me the best kawaii, so it's nice to be able to pay it back a little. :)
Response: Thank you! Exactly the kind of advice I need. I want the 44-year-old's trip to NO, not the 22-year-old's. lol
Response: Thank you! I will never take this treatment for granted. It's given me back so much. :) This PC was one of my favorites that I've done.
Response: Yay! I'm glad it actually made it to you this time. :)
Response: Whew! Glad it finally made it! I've had a number of things take the (very, very) long route lately. Hopefully things will improve soon.
Response: It took a lot longer to wrap than I expected. lol! It was so much fun to make, though. Thanks for hosting it! I'll keep my eye out for the next one. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so happy you liked everything. That makes my day! :) Happy Holidays!!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! It was super fun to make. :)
Response: No problem! I'm glad it arrived and that you like it. I love that G45 collection. :)
Response: Awww! I'm so glad you like it!! I just got those memos in and have been in love with them since. I agree -- too cute!! :) I'm glad I could share them with you!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! That makes my day. :)
Response: We all have our thing, don't we? Mine's spiders. lol I'm so glad you liked the card. It was a blast to make. :)
Response: Aww, thank you! I'm so glad you like it!
Response: I did -- thank you!
Response: Aww! Thank you so much! You just made my day. :) I'm so glad you like it!
Response: Oh no! I'm so sorry!! That really stinks -- there was a lot more in there. :( I sent that in one of my blue envelopes, and I normally tape those flaps shut to be extra careful. Did I forget the tape on yours? (Just curious so I can figure out what to do better in the future.) I will resend to you Monday. UPDATE 9-25-17: I dropped the resend in a postbox this morning. You should have it by the end of the week. :)
Response: It is a bear; I just didn't know if it quite qualified as a teddy bear. :) The collection is Everything I Need to Know I Learned From this Little Golden Postcard Book. It's all illustrations from Little Golden Books. I love it! I'm glad you like it, too. :)
Response: I'm glad you like it. I'm kind of obsessed with that little girl stamp right now. :)
Response: Yes, the penguin is sooo cute! And for some weird reason I like the little green weed. lol! I'm so glad you liked everything!! That PC is hilarious.
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like it! It was really fun putting things together for you. :)
Response: Aww, thank you! I'm so glad you like them. I have a lot of fun doing it. It's so relaxing after a long day with the kids. lol
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I almost didn't want to send her away. :) That's one of my all-time favorite stamps.
Response: lol! It's getting there... little by little. I like frogs and newts -- I think I'd rather have those in my basement than the spiders and mice we get. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like everything. I love Capuri Mono, too. They crack me up! :)
Response: Aw, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I had to order the Milk stamps online and they had just arrived the day before I sent your letter. :)
Response: I'm so glad you like them, especially the creepy caterpillar. lol I was a little worried you might be offended I sent such an "ugly" one. Glad to know you view it like I do and it found it's right home. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. :) Thank you for your lovely comments. You made my day!
Response: Aww, and you just made my day with this comment! I am so glad you like everything. My favorite part of swapping is when I can make someone smile when they open their mail. :)
Response: Yay! I'm glad it made it. :) Maybe fate stepped in and lost the first one because you were meant to have this one instead. lol I'm so happy you like it. Have a lovely day!
Response: Yay! I'm glad you like them. :) I stamped the gears on with embossing ink and then heat embossed the image with a clear powder.
Response: I'm so glad you like your Happy Mail! The funniest part of swapping for me is when I can send someone something they'll love. :)
Response: I'm glad you like them!
=^.^=
Response: The 14 is such a fun idea! I loved playing along. :)
Response: Thank you for hosting such a fun swap! It was trickier than I thought it would be, but I had a blast. :)
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you like it! I had a lot of fun putting your swap together. It was fun to geek out with someone!
Response: I know, right? I love that washi! I'm glad I could share those cute little guys with you. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it!
Response: Aww, I'm so glad you liked it. I couldn't resist them when I spotted them in the store. :)
Response: Yay! I'm so glad!!
Response: Oh gosh, it's been so long since I got them that I can't remember exactly, and I can't find the box they're packed away in (we moved to another state and I'm still trying to unpack everything!) I was working in a lab for a professor who studies hyenas, so they could have been from Kenya, but more likely they're just regular old Michigan field mice. :)
Response: I'm so glad you like them! My favorite part of swapping is trying to pick things I hope my partner will like. :) Have a wonderful day!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! That makes my heart happy. :) Have a lovely day!
Response: Aww, you're so sweet! Thank you! I'm glad you like the postcard. I tried out my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons for the first time in making it. I used Q-tips to blend the color after drawing the circles.
Response: Yay! I'm so glad you like them. :)
